HOPE
Feeling kind of empty tonight although I am surrounded by seven dogs but one is missing - HOPE. My sweet Hope. Watching her grow into the beautiful well behaved dog was an amazing adventure. She still has a long way to go with regards to trusting people but she no longer runs away she stays in the room with new people and would lean against me for reassurance. She used to run for cover into her crate in the back porch. Once she trusts she trusts completely and was truly devoted to our family. She loved us and we certainly loved her. Her first adopted home of two weeks did not work out and she was returned to us. Recently, we had many many people interested in Hope but I wanted to be sure that her next home would be successful and I feel confident that Hope just fell into clover. She is going to spend part of her week in the city and the other part in her vacation home in Liverpool where she will be playing on the beach with her doggie friends. Hope will love this as she loves dogs and I think my boy George is missing her head resting on his back tonight. They became buddies pretty quick and she learned how to be a dog from my pack. This is what happens though when they share your life for any length of time. I miss her and worry about her tonight but this is what rescue is all about. Sadness, happiness and everything in between. She came wounded both physically/mentally and left a beautiful dog with more Hope in her eyes than when she arrived. We love you Hope its been a great three months getting to know you. You are what makes all the work worth while.
