ANNIE
Annie, Annie we miss you. We love taking in dogs who need homes and the rewards are endless. The attachment and sorrow coincide with the rewards. The longer we have the dogs, the more attached we become. We had Annie for approximately 3months and she was so smart, loyal and loving. We watched her transform from a weary girl fearful of hands to one who would sit with her head on our lap begging for the stroke of our hands. She would watch with worry every move we made and then that "watch and staring" turned into admiration for us. She learned that people can be nice and children are too. She was gentle and kind to my girls and they thought the world of her. She was complex too - she didn't like to play with dogs but loved to run along side of them when we hiked. She was always alert and ready for an adventure- calm and quiet in the house , then spring like a deer through the fields. She went to a home to an older man who just lost his dog of 16yrs and was searching for a loving companion that would accompany him on daily walks. She is the only pet and will be lavished upon. She left 2wks ago and each day I think of her and hope she is happy. Another worry - we always hope that the fit between dog and new owner is a good one and we try our best to ensure this happens.. We love you Annie. : ))
