  Asha

Asha is a stunning looking 2yr old female black Shepherd. She is very bright and needs to go to an experienced dog owner. If she is introduced to people properly and is allowed a few minutes to get to know new people she loves them and accepts them. However, she is reactive to new people that she does not know. Once she knows you, she remembers and acts like a big sook. She needs to learn to trust new people but we are amazed at how far she has come in such a short time. She likes other dogs and wants desperately to be chased. She would be best in a home where someone will have the time to work with her. She knows basic commands and is eager to learn.   Hope

Hope is a lovable 1 ˝ yr old female shepherd mix who has come along way in the last few weeks. Hope was found wandering around the streets of Newfoundland scared and injured with a large gash on her head. Hope was flown here to N.Scotia arrived scared and shaking. During her first few days she would cower in the corner when we approached but would come and climb all over us if we sat down next to her. When we first walked her she was terrified of the big outdoors. Makes you wonder where she lived. Already, Hope is running and playing with the other dogs and learning how to be a dog. She will quickly roll over for a belly rub but is still apprehensive when meeting new people. She is a bright girl who would be a loving companion to anyone and would probably thrive with another dog in the home. Someone with dog experience and lots of patience is a must. If you think you can provide a loving home for Hope please call East Coast German Shepherd Rescue c/o Leah Parsons @ 435 9699 or E-Mail leah@nsgsrescue.com.

Libbie is a beautiful 1yr old Shepherd/ Husky mix. She's tall and lean with great big soft paws and a big tail that curls over her back. Libbie weighs 76 lbs. She came to the rescue from a loving family who could no longer keep her. Previous to this home, Libbie lived with another family for 6months therefore, needs some reassurance that the next home will be furever. Libbie loves to snuggle and play with her toys.   Dozer is a darling 9 month old shepherd/huskie mix. His eyes are striking and in the sun they look like light blue marbles. He appears to be very intelligent and will respond well to obedience training. He is totally house trained and can be left for short periods of time with no problems. He likes to chew so the Costco rawhides are handy. Dozer retrieves well and loves to play and run. Although the previous owner had concerns with him around their baby we have seen no aggresive behavior. He has adjusted well to the other dogs and sleeps with the children at night. Dozer needs a family who will have time to devote to his obedience training and they will be rewarded with his loving nature and a great family pet.   Mr. Bones (German Shepherd/Husky/Lab X)

Poor Mr. Bones is waiting patiently for his new permanent home. He has had a rough life and is only looking for someone to provide love and shelter. He is full of love but still waiting for someone to come along give him a chance. He is such a great guy, full of energy.

7 – 8 yrs Male Neutered. Mr. Bones was flown from the Clarenville SPCA in Newfoundland and we are privileged to care for this sweet fellow until we can find a permanent home for him. He was seized from his former home due to neglect and he only weighed 38lbs when he first arrived (thus the name). He has gained 11lbs, has a new lease on life and he is very appreciative of all the special care he is receiving. He is sweet and loves everyone. He tends to jump up because of the excitement of people paying attention to him but this can easily be corrected. He does not mind cats and loves children, however, due to his jumpiness it may be best if Mr.Bones goes to a home with older children. This guy is a gem. If you would like to meet him, please call East Coast German Shepherd Rescue, Leah Parsons @ 435 9699 or E-Mail leah@nsgsrescue.com.

  Ryder

  Hi Leah,
I never thought I would have to send this kind of message, but I need to find somewhere to place a German Shepherd pup, Ryder, he is between 5-6 months old He likes our other dog (a lab) but is showing a lot of aggression to any other dogs he sees, he tries to eat my cats and while he likes my 5 year old son he is way too rough with him. This dog was never socialized properly and needs to go to an experienced dog owner as he has a strong "dogality" and needs an experienced person to work with him. He is still just a pup and with the right person, he would flourish. He is bright, loves the water and is eager to please. If you think you can provide a loving home for Ryder please call East Coast German Shepherd Rescue, Leah Parsons @ 435 9699 or E-Mail leah@nsgsrescue.com.

  Chasta

Hello my name is Chasta and I am a lovable 5yr old German Shepherd whose family could no longer keep me due to allergies. I am a bit confused right now because I don't understand why I had to leave my home but still in good spirits, loving and sweet. I love my basketball and will have to bring this into my new home. I lived with a kitten and a couple of older children. A dog matched to me would probably work out . My foster mom says that she has tried me with a couple of dogs so far and I like them but will know more in a few days as I only arrived yesterday. I have an allergy to fleas and my skin is quite itchy right now but I am on medicine and will hopefully, find relief soon. The fleas are gone but the itch is still there due to a secondary infection. Give me a week or two and I will be back to my beautiful self again. If you think you can provide a loving home for Chasta please call East Coast German Shepherd Rescue, Leah Parsons @ 435 9699 or E-Mail leah@nsgsrescue.com.

  The General

The General is a one year old medium sized male shepherd who is quite thin at the moment but we hope to change this soon. He was neglected which is obvious due to the weight and bad ear conditon but we are working on bringing him around to be the stunning beauty that he was meant to be. He is loving and attentive and likes to play with other dogs. I don't know if he likes cats. I will add more to his bio once I get to know him better. If you would like to meet General or find out more information, please call East Coast German Shepherd Rescue, Leah Parsons @ 435 9699 or E-Mail leah@nsgsrescue.com.

  ANNIE

Annie is a female German Shepherd Mix approximately 2yrs old. She is a smaller dog approximately 40lbs. She is very bright and knows all the basic commands. She is somewhat reserved when you first meet her as she tends to size people up and wants to trust them first. Can't blame her there. Once she knows you, she will quickly roll over for a belly rub or go a few rounds wrestling with you. Children must be 7 yrs and older for Annie. If you would like to meet Annie, please call East Coast German Shepherd Rescue, Leah Parsons @ 435 9699 or E-Mail leah@nsgsrescue.com.

  LUCY

Lucy is a 2yr old BLIND female Shepherd mix, approximately 45lbs. Lucy does not see her blindness as a negative and lives life to the fullest. She is a very loving, bright dog who is very quick to learn her way around new areas. Poor Lucy was left behind when her family moved and she was dumped at a shelter. Shelter life was a bit overwhelming for Lucy and she now resides in a foster home awaiting her permanent home. Everyone who meets this sweetie falls in love. Her photo does not do her justice as she is a beautiful girl. No young children for Lucy. If you would like to meet Lucy, please call East Coast German Shepherd Rescue, Leah Parsons @ 435 9699 or E-Mail leah@nsgsrescue.com.

  PIPER

Hi my name is Piper I am a German Shepherd Dog / Australian Shepherd mix. Iturned 5 months old on May 2nd. I'm very much a puppy - and I love to learn new things. I would excel in obedience and would love to take classes. I already know how to sit and am working on down, come and how to walk nicely on leash. I'm fast too - my foster mom says I'd be a champion agility or flyball dog. I have lots of energy and I love to play with other dogs. My foster parents say I'm very bright and eager to learn. I'm not completely house trained but my accidents are few and far between - sometimes I even bark to let you know it's time go. I am crate trained and I often go in there to rest and play even when my foster parents are home (they always leave the door open for me when they're around). Sometimes I'm a bit nervous and bark around strange people but am getting used to meeting new people and this is improving. I'm looking for my forever family - my foster parents think I'm a really special girl - meet me and you'll love me too. If you are interested in Smudge, please call East Coast German Shepherd Rescue, Leah Parsons @ 435 9699 or E-Mail leah@nsgsrescue.com.

  JACK

Jack is looking for a quiet retirement home. He is approximately 9yrs old and has lived in a pen his entire life. Needless to say he was quite happy to get in my vehicle when I went to pick him up. He is very affectionate and cries when you rub him as he has not had enough physical contact in a very long time. While Jack was not given much time or attention, he was overfed and because of this he needs to lose some weight. His extra weight causes him difficulty with walking. If you think you could provide a loving retirement home for this guy inside a home, please contact us.

  RUBBLE

  KRAMER & JERRY

“Jerry and Kramer are 2 beautiful old-world shepherds. They were bred 3 years ago at Unico in Sandy Point. They have a microchip and all shots are up to date. They are neutered. They have framed CKC certificates. Both are sweet dogs, and have all the usual shepherd traits. They are very loyal, affectionate and happy…but are also protective and territorial about their home. They have played with lots of dogs in their life and haven’t shown much aggressiveness as long as they can say hi to the other dog.

"Jerry is the white shepherd and is the passive dog, whereas Kramer is the boss. Jerry is cool and comfortable in any situation. Kramer is a little more alert and protective at most times. They LOVE going for drives!

"The dogs have never had any medical problems except for some bumps and cuts from playing in the lake. Did I mention, they love to swim…and they love chasing balls/Frisbees. Jerry just likes running with the other dogs that are doing the chasing. Kramer likes to get the prize.

"My heart is broken at the prospect of losing my 2 friends of 3 years. They have given me endless happiness, joy and pleasure. They are excellent pets.

Saddened,

Larry”
